Pig Heart Boy New Book Cover

This activity is set by Miss McCombie, and as you can see here, it is to design a new book cover for Pig Heart Boy.
Zara and I first had a draft and listed all the must have, we chose that type of font because it is quite bold and can eye-catching. We also made that catch phrase because it technically sums up the whole story in that one sentence, although it might be quite similar to the catchphrase on the actual book.
I decided to have a pig on my background because the title have pig in it and so it would be nice to give it a visual.
And of course, the author must be put on.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

  1. Kia Ora Amy,
I love your final copy of the front cover of Pig Heart Boy as it is colourful, the layout is awesome (especially the way the pig is facing), and the font. When I did my final copy, I drew Cameron as he is the main character, did you think of including him too?
Next time, you could make the text of the blurb smaller as it is very large and takes up a lot of space.
What part of the front cover do you like the best?

    1. Hallo Zara,
Thank you for commenting on my blog, I really appreciate it.
I actually didn't really think of including Cameron in (in fact, I kinda forgot about him), I only thought of the pig in the Pig Heart Boy. Also, I took in consideration about the blurb and have now changed it.
I like the pig best and it is very cute (If I do say so myself).
What do you like the most?

  2. Hello Amy!
I find the font really interesting, I have never seen that type of font before and I love the colours of it. Although you could have made the font on the catchphrase the same as the other font because it looks kind of random. Still good though! Also what did you use to make this and how long did it take you to make this?

  4. Kia Ora Amy, I really like your front cover of what your visual for pig heart boy is.It made me think of a book I once read called Charlotte web, I remember it was about a young pig living in a barn were he meet a spider web called charlotte and she webbed many things which had then made him famous and she eventually had quite a lot of kids and after going to a fair with the young pig she died from living a long happy life. Maybe next time you could add what your favourite part about the cover was and then get others inspired to comment on your blog post.

Thank you for comment on my blog. I love Charlotte Web, it is a very interesting book.
My favourite part of this book cover is probably the pink background and the pig image. What is your favourite part of this cover?

    1. Hello Ava,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. The font for the title and the author is called 'sushi'. I don't quite get what you mean by making the blurb smaller, could you please explain it further. What part of this book cover do you like the best?

  6. Kia ora Amny i like your pig heart boy cover.
How long did this take you? This has good detail and coluor.
This reminded me of my pig heart boy cover and the book. Maybe next time you could add a boy and a heart to the front cover as well as a pig so its like pig then heart then boy.

    1. Hello Amani,
Thank you for commenting on my blog.
I did think of adding a heart but not a boy. I searched up pig hearts on Google, but the hearts looked very gross, and it would ruin the colours of the background. But maybe if the background had a different colour, perhaps like a dark red or something, then the heart would work. Bu thanks for the suggestion. What do you like most about the cover?
      Have a good day
