My Pepeha

This is Maori Language week and for one of my reading activities, it was to create our pepeha.
This is the main structure for your Pepeha:
Ko _____ tōku Maunga
(_____ is my mourtain)
Ko _____ tōku awa
(The _____ is my river)
Ko _____ tōku iwi
(_____ is my iwi)
No _____ Ahau
(_____ I am from)
Ko _____ tōku Papa
(_____ is my father)
Ko _____ tōku Mama
(_____ is my mother)
Ko _____ tōku ingoa Whānau
(_____ is the name of my family-surname)
Ko _____ Ahau
(I am _____)
Nō reira tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa
(Therefore greetings, greetings, greetings)

And this is my pepeha.

  1. Kia Ora Amy,
I like how you have created a template for other people to do their Pepeha and the English meaning of the Pepeha too. The maori pattern boarder looks effective and adds a little colour.
When I did my Pepeha, I could not find my iwi. How did you find your iwi?
Next time you could add the school name in and maybe your siblings names too. Great job.

I have a pepeha and i might think about posting mine but we will see.
What would your English pepeha look like? Maybe you could post that one next!

    3. Hello Jenayde,
Well we learn something new everyday, right? You should really post your pepeha, I'd love to see it! I did have quite some problems trying to find the mountains and rivers because it is located in China.
      Thanks

    5. Guten Morgen Jenayde,
You really don't have to put your full name up, just write your first name! And I just used google to find my mountain and river, and I did it by searching '(city) mountain' or '(city) river' and I would get the answer. But even that was quite difficult to find one.
